Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple located in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, India. The name of the city of 'Thiruvananthapuram' in Tamil and Malayalam translates to "The City of Lord Ananta", the temple's main deity. It features a high wall and a gopura from the 16th century and is built in an intricate mixture of Chera and Dravidian architecture. In the "Anantha Shayana" posture, the eternal yogic sleep on the infinite serpent Adi Shesha, Padmanabhaswamy is enshrined. Travancore's royal family worships Padmanabhaswamy as its tutelary deity. Temple trustees are currently led by the titular Maharaja of Travancore, Moolam Thirunal Rama Varma.

Kanakakunnu Palace is located in Thiruvananthapuram near the Napier Museum. It is India's first digital garden, created by Akhilesh S. V. Nair and A. Gangaprasad, University of Kerala, Department of Botany. Today, the palace and its sprawling grounds host many cultural meetings and programs. The Department of Tourism organizes an all-India dance festival every year. There are daily performances of classical Indian dance during this time.
